Nova Scotia Department of Energy awards ioMosaic a contract to develop Code of
Practice for LNG Facilities
ioMosaic Corporation was awarded a contract to develop a Code of Practice for
LNG Facilities by the Nova Scotia Department of Energy.
The natural gas supply/demand balance in North America has created renewed
interest in importing liquefied natural gas (LNG). Facilities to regasify LNG
have been proposed for dozens of sites, including three in Nova Scotia.
“ioMosaic was selected to undertake this important assignment because our staff
has significant global expertise in the design, construction and operation of
LNG facilities. We have successfully worked side by side with a number of
leading LNG operators and LNG transportation companies” said Henry Ozog,
General Partner of ioMosaic Corporation.
The Nova Scotia Department of Energy (DOE) has initiated the preparation of
amendments to the Gas Plant Facility Regulations that govern LNG facilities.
These Regulations provide the framework for how the operator must interface
with the regulators in order to obtain approval to construct or operate an LNG
facility. The proposed amendments to the Regulations include the incorporation
by reference of industry standard CSA Z276-01, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) –
Production, Storage and Handling.
ioMosaic will (a) review the proposed amendments to the
regulations and provide comments, (b) prepare a Code of
Practice for LNG facilities to provide an implementation technical framework,
(c) provide a report that supports the contents of the Code of
Practice, and (d) provide support to DOE when it solicits
comments on the Code of Practice.
